Looking for the best Canva font pairings to make your graphics look aesthetic and professional? Well, you’re in the right place!
As a Pinterest strategist, one of the biggest mistakes I see bloggers and entrepreneurs make on Pinterest is using the wrong fonts in their graphics. Yep, that’s right – fonts matter on Pinterest. In fact, they can make or break a pin.
Using beautiful font pairings signals to Pinterest users that you’re a professional, that you know exactly what you’re talking about and that they should be taking advice from you. When your pins and fonts look messy, so do you! Your pin designs are a reflection of yourself and your work. This is why it’s so important to pick the best font pairings.
I create all of my pin designs (for both myself and my clients!) on Canva. It’s super easy to use and they have loads of amazing font options. The huge variety means that there’s something to suit everyone’s tastes.
There are a couple of things you want to think about when selecting your fonts for a Pinterest graphic.
The headline of a pin is often what stops us from scrolling. It also tends to be the most important factor in getting someone to click through to our website. So, it’s really important that the fonts we use are easy to read, especially on the smaller screens of mobile devices.
If people can’t easily read your pin, they’ll keep scrolling! So always keep the user in mind when selecting a font!
It’s a good idea to opt for large, bold fonts as these tend to be much more readable. You can also make fonts easier to read by capitalising your titles. This will make them stand out more on Pinterest.
Pinterest is a visual platform, so picking fonts that are pretty or aesthetically pleasing is important. Users on Pinterest like nice design and will respond better to fonts that they like the look of.
As I mentioned earlier, you want your pins to represent your brand, so bear this in mind when picking fonts. Go for something that’s clean and classic with a style appeals to your ideal audience!
So, what’s the secret formula to pairing fonts together on Pinterest?
If you’ve spent time on Pinterest, you probably will have noticed that there are certain types of font combinations that perform well on the platform. These are:
So try to stick to these magic formulas when pairing together fonts for your Pinterest pin designs.
There are a few things that are super important to bear in mind when using cursive fonts in your pin designs.
Try to pick cursive fonts that are still relatively easy to read. As I mentioned earlier, if someone can’t easily read your pin within the first second of seeing it, they’ll scroll right past it.
Pinterest has a relatively advanced AI system, which allows the platform to ‘read’ your pins. This means they can see all the text on your pins and use this information to rank your content correctly. This is why I always recommend adding keywords to your pin designs!
It can be more difficult, however, for Pinterest to read cursive fonts. So, to be on the safe side, I always avoid using cursive fonts for my keywords. I want these to be in bolder, easily legible fonts, that I know for sure Pinterest will be able to read. This is because those keywords on my pin design give Pinterest extra information about who to show my pin to.
